Why Blake Lively is the Queen of the Met Steps...

The first Monday in May is basically a holiday in my eyes, as I live for the fashion that graces the Met steps for the Met Gala. This year's theme was Gilded Glamour and I have to say overall I was disappointed. While as a whole I loved the looks and would have loved to see them at any other red carpet event, I found they did not fit the theme. One star stood out among the rest, and, of course, it was Blake Lively.

Spotted: S taking her rightful place as Queen of the Met steps.

Blake Lively has always been known to pull off stunning red carpet looks, but the Met Gala seems to be the place where she shines the brightest. Seriously, if there is ever anyone who is known to dress perfectly to the theme, but still look more glamorous and less costume it's Lively, but this year she more than outdid herself.

She is the moment!

When Blake first walked the carpet, her custom Versace gown looked beautiful, however, not too exciting. She was in a gorgeous rose gold gown with an extravagant bow that according to Harper's Bazaar paid homage to the Empire State Building. While this was beautiful, we have come to expect more from Lively especially as she was a co-chair. Well, of course, she did not disappoint as her gown dramatically transformed. As she walked up the steps, her bow untied to reveal a beautiful blue train, and she changed her gloves to match. This moment was inspired by the statue of liberty but more importantly screamed "Gilded Glamour". It was definitely the most "wow" moment of the night and truly the only one really worth talking about.

This dramatic moment once again proved that Blake Lively is the true queen of the Met steps. My personal apologies to Blair Waldorf because Serena van der Woodsen wins again.

XOXO,

Kristin
