Pink Nails? For Spring? Groundbreaking.

When your nail tech asks to take a photo for her Instagram, you say yes!

Spring is my favorite season when it comes to fashion, beauty, and food. (My personal apologies to fall.) I love floral dresses, fresh salads, and, as you probably guessed based on the title of this post, a cute pink manicure.

As I had already decided to welcome Spring a few weeks early, I had done my spring clean, tried new recipes, and bought a new dress, I decided it was time to go ahead and get my spring nails. Now getting a manicure isn't anything new for me. Truth be told, I usually go about once a month. After all, I am a firm believer in treating yourself. But I get a bit more excited about getting one in the springtime, so I made my way to my current happy place, Gloss The Nail Lounge.

Gloss had become my go-to place for nails since salons were allowed to reopen in Florida. It is a nice large salon that is clean, socially distances their customers, has chic décor, and some of the best nail techs. I've had a different technician almost every time I've gone in, and each one has been very meticulous, and has made my nails look fabulous! This past time, I had one of my favorites, Yane.

When the appointment started, she helped me by picking out powder polish from OPI. From there, she helped me pick out a pink shade that most flattered my skin tone. I went with more of a pink/ coral tone that of course had shimmer. (Sadly, I don't know the name, but I'm sure it's something cute!) It was a little bit louder of color than what I normally choose, but I felt like it was perfect for the new season. Because my natural nails were a bit shorter than normal, I got tip, and asked for a square shape. The end result was near perfection! Yane really took her time, and even explained why she was taking each step. She loved her work so much that she even asked to take a picture for her Instagram. Needless, to say we were both obsessed!

Now I now not everyone is as #extra as I am and wants loud pink nails to kick off the spring season, so I have a few more pink suggestions below!

Hollywood Palms

I found this look on the OPI website. I love how the pink shade, Hollywood & Vibe is the perfect pale pink for spring, and even has a bit of shine. The green palms make it somewhat earthy and are a nice touch. At the salon, you could choose this shade and ask your nail tech to paint on palm leaves. If you are basically a professional nail technician yourself, you can follow the link below to get the look!

Soft Pink Shimmer

A soft pink shimmer is the perfect nail polish color to kick off spring. A pale pink is neutral enough to go with just about any outfit, but the shimmer makes it more exciting. This shade, Wet-Suited Up, from Essie is almost as much of a staple as their Ballet Slippers shade and is a NEED for any nail polish collection!

Pink Color Blocking

This two-piece polish set, Pink Posse, from Butter London is the perfect set to create a color blocking look. Strawberry Fields (the bright pink) adds a fun bold pop of color, while Brill Patent (the light pink) softens the look. Color-blocking is fun, bold, and an exciting way to welcome the new season.

Copacabana Swirl

Swirl nail art is truly having a moment and this cute pink take on the trend is perfect for spring! I love the subtle touch of gold because it adds a hint of sparkle but doesn't take away from the chicness of the two pink shades. Ella and Mila made a video on how to achieve this exact look, but if DIY nail art isn't your thing many technicians would love to create this look!

These looks are just suggestions, but there are truly endless possibilities to channel your inner Elle Woods and rock pink nails this spring. You can do a square cut with solid pink, but a glitter on your ring finger (everyone loves a party finger), an almond nail with a hot pink tip. or, when in doubt, just a simple coat of any pink shade. Regardless of what you choose, it's a new season, treat yourself and enjoy it!

XOXO,

Kristin
