Outfit Diaries: Barbie the Movie

Of course, there's a lot of pink!

'C'mon Barbie, Let's Go Party"

To say I was (and still am) obsessed with Barbie is an understatement. As a girl, she was a symbol that I could be anything. I loved styling her in various outfits, making her a movie star (or whatever career seemed the most appealing to me on that day), and watching her animated movies on loop. When this movie was first announced a few years ago, I already could not wait. I wanted to celebrate the release by dressing up in Barbie inspired outfits everyday, so I pulled all the pink pieces out from my closet and shopped a Barbie collab or a few and channeled my inner Barbie girl.

Business Barbie Blazer Set

Barbie was created to be a career woman. She had her own credit cards and her own iconic dreamhouse. I wanted this to be reflected in my first outfit, but with a cute, hot pink twist.

Blazer and Short Set: Camila Coelho

White Pearl Corset: Showpo, Evie Maree Collection

White Pearl Platform Heels: Public Desire

Pearl Clip: Target

Gold Necklace: Kendra Scott

Pearl Earrings: Kate Spade

Hot Girl Walk Barbie

Barbie has always kept up with the trends, if not, set them herself, so I know she would enjoy a hot girl walk. Especially, in this flattering tennis dress and embellished pink heart glasses.

Tennis Dress: Alo Yoga

Pink Socks: Alo Yoga

White Sneakers with Rose Gold Details: Steve Madden

Pink Embellished Heart Glasses: Amazon

Pink Earrings: Kate Spade

Night Out Barbie

I imagined this outfit as a date night outfit with Ken or better yet an outfit for Girls' Night because it's always Girls' Night #IYKYK

Pink Top and Pants Set: Superdown

Black Embellished Purse: Amazon

Black Platform Heels: Amazon

Pink and Gold Necklace: Kendra Scott, Barbie Collection

Earrings: Kate Spade

"Casual" Barbie

In Barbie Land the most casual outfits were still very over the top, so of course, my take on Casual Barbie is just as #Extra as I am!

Pink Embellished Tank: Hello Molly

Jeans: Levi's

Silver Embellished Platform Heels: Steve Madden

Silver Heart Purse: Amazon

Silver Bracelet: Alex and Ani, Barbie Collection

Silver Necklace: Disney

Silver and Pearl Earrings: A gift for being a bridesmaid

Workout Barbie

This 80's inspired workout look is a Barbie classic and just had to be recreated.

Black Barbie Swimsuit: Etsy (I bought it years ago and, sadly, don't remember the seller)

Leggings: Glyder

Socks: Tavi for Pure Barre

Scrunchie: Kitsch, Barbie Collection

Movie Premiere Barbie

If I was invited to the Barbie premiere in some alternate universe, I would have wanted to wear something similar to this, just a little more extravagant. This look was inspired by a fashion sketch of Barbie that I found on Pinterest, and I have to say I nailed the look!

Black and Pink Bow Back Dress: ASOS Design

Pink Kitten Heels (Not pictured here, but in the first photo): Aldo, Barbie Collection

Pink Handbag: Amazon

Silver Bracelet: Alex and Ani, Barbie Collection

Silver Necklace: Disney

Silver and Pearl Earrings: Gift

The Perfect Barbie 'Fit

I ended the week with my favorite look yet! I felt like it channeled vintage Barbie and Margot Robbie on her press tour. I even had people in the movie theater and tell me it was the perfect outfit for the movie. This one was a true 10/10 and the perfect way to end the week!

Pink Embellished Tweed Top and Skirt Set: ASOS Design

Pink Platform Heels: Steve Madden

Pink Embellished Handbag: Aldo

Silver Bracelet: Alex and Ani, Barbie Collection

Silver Necklace: Disney

Silver Earrings: Kate Spade

Dressing up for the Barbie Movie truly made me feel like a kid again, but in the best way. It made me want to get back to dressing up more and being more playful with my outfits. The movie was truly amazing and I might even go see it for the third time. It was a much needed reminder that women can do anything they set their hearts to regardless of society's expectations on us. If you continue to see me rocking Barbie pink, don't judge. I'll always and forever be a Barbie Girl!

XOXO,

Kristin
