How to be the Most #Extra at your Thanksgiving Dinner

It's time to steal the attention away from your grandmother's home made pumpkin pie.

If you think this 'fit is cute, just wait until you see this year's outfit!

It should come as no surprise that for every family occasion, I am the most overdressed. (I mean they're the ones who taught me that I need a new outfit for every occasion, so really I'm just making them proud.) While most might take a casual approach on this holiday famous for overeating, I prefer to dress to the nines. After all it is Thanksgiving, and one of the many things I'm thankful for is knowing how to dress.

Now that Covid cases seem to finally be on the decline, there's no excuse to not enjoy this time with family. There's also no excuse for this to not be your best dressed Thanksgiving yet, so put away that cozy flannel, and let me be your stylist. I've listed five outfit suggestions below;

Business but Anything but Casual

So this may or may not be what I'm wearing to my Thanksgiving dinner. (The may not aspect being the fact that I have been unable to get my hands on the sold out blazer.) This brown blazer set looks sophisticated while the snakeskin boots add that #Extra touch you need to be the best dressed one at the table. I would finish the look off with gold accessories.

A Classic Sweater Dress with Stunning Details

While a sweater dress seems like a basic and easy choice, there are ways to elevate this classic look. First, I would look for a dress with a detail that makes it stand out like this open back one pictured. Then, I would pair it with embellished heels, and to add even more sparkle I would accessorize with silver rhinestoned jewelry.

Thanksgiving with a Parisian Twist

I know Thanksgiving is an American holiday, but one thing I'm thankful for is the influence the French have had on fashion. This classic houndstooth dress with the peter pan collared blouse can be taken to he next level with embellished knee high black booties. To add pop of color I would even add a beret (probably pink or red). I would also add simple gold jewelry to give this look its finishing touch.

Thanksgiving... but Make it Western

So this outfit, was inspired by my search for outfits for Nashville. (Dolly Parton's rooftop bar is a must see!) However, I think it would be fab for Thanksgiving dinner. The denim jumpsuit just screams Fall while the cow print heels add a fun Western touch. To complete the look, I would add gold jewelry and maybe even a cowboy hat! (Now that would be #Extra!)

The Truly #Extra One

Nothing says Thanksgiving like a brown, satin maxi dress and embellished heels. If you show up in this stunning outfit no one in your family will even bother asking why you're still single because the answer is obviously that you're out of most men's leagues. To give it that final touch I would just add some rhinestoned gold jewelry.

Regardless of what you choose to wear this holiday, I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving!

XOXO,

Kristin
