Having a Self-Care Moment

Only thing missing was a glass of Rose

PSA: During this time, this crazy stuck inside stressful time, it's important to take care of yourself. Personally, I've had many lows since this social distancing period began. As someone, who is a busybody being forced to work from home is not ideal. I mean, I can only binge-watch so many shows before I go completely stir crazy (Tiger King being the exception). During these lows I've found ways to prioritize self-care. This past Sunday, I decided it was time for a mini Spa day.

I started my Spa Day, by turning on Pretty Little Thing's Behind Closed Doors Podcast because I find other women discussing their path to success to be inspiring. After I painted with nails with Essie's Expressie polish in checked in. I will admit that I chose this polish because I didn't have the patience to wait too long for my nails to dry and it was just featured in Cosmopolitan's Beauty Awards in their May issue. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear award winning polish? Very shortly after, I was my face and put on a face mask. I used Biore's new Rose Quartz and Charcoal Clay Mask. The great thing about this mask, is that it was working double duty. The charcoal helps to clean out pores and remove impurities and the rose quartz radiates self-love, which we need during this time. While I waited to the mask to set (only 8 minutes #sensitiveskinprobs) I read a couple Vogue articles. As soon as my mask was dry, I rinsed it off and went about my day (I called it a mini-spa day after all). I felt more relaxed and rejuvenated than I had since the beginning of this Covid-19 craziness.

This post wasn't so much about my spa day itself. It was more so a reminder to find time to take care of yourself. We're in the middle of a crisis that we have never faced before, so it's easy to feel down, anxious, and even depressed. I think it's important to find ways to relax and distract ourselves from the outside world whether it's through a spa day, a workout, or reading a good book.

XOXO,

Kristin

P.S.- Please, please stay inside!
