Happy Fashion Month! While we watch the Spring/ Summer collections grace the runway, I would love to share what's trending now!
Forget about pumpkin spice, muted earth tones, and cozy sweaters! This fall we're throwing out the rule book. We'll be seeing a continuation of the glitz and the glam Spring brought us. At the same time, vintage pieces will also be trending. This season, trends are all about making a statement and showing off more personality with bolder fashion choices.
Fashion
Confession: Fall Fashion is not my favorite, (I simply don't understand the hype), but this season I'm excited for Fall Fashion trends. They're a bit unexpected and have a bit more glam. That being said, this Fall I'm excited to dress up and wear as much pink as possible.
"Come On Barbie, Let's Wear Pink!"
I don't know if we have Valentino or Margot Robbie to thank for this trend, but either way I'm here for it! As a self-proclaimed girly-girl, I love the Barbiecore trend and will be using it as an excuse to buy anything and everything pink!
Sequins... but Make Them Bigger and Better
Sequins ruled the Spring, and they'll rule the Fall as well. All long with sequins we'll see fabric with shimmer, glimmer, rhinestones, embellishments, and sequins larger more transparent bestie, palettes. So, basically, if it sparkles, it's trending.
"It's Not Blue, it's Cerulean"
Well kinda. (This quote was simply necessary.) We'll be seeing all shades of blue this fall! Cerulean being a big one along with cobalt and aqua. This is one of my go-to colors to wear, so I will be rocking it this season!
Cutouts on Cutouts
I know with temperatures dropping, this ones does not seem sensible, but the Fall/ Winter runways do not lie, and cutouts were a common trend for many designers. That being said, I am prepared to choose fashion over comfort. That is, only until the temperatures drop to sixty degrees.
Delicate Lace
Whether it's a top made of lace or a dress with lace details, this pretty, delicate fabric will be everywhere.
Edgy Leather
I consider this a "cool girl" fall staple. It can be dressed up or down. Also, (probably thanks to Top Gun) we'll be seeing this trend with bomber jackets. Personally, I'd rather have a chic pair of leather pants.
Bomber Jackets
Speaking of leather bomber jackets, all types will be a huge trend this season. I state why I think so above.
Grunge
Oversized t-shirts, baggy pants, a darker, gritter color palette will be everywhere, so, I guess it's time to channel your inner 90's grunge girl.
Chic and Sheer
Sheer pieces were all over the runways during Fashion Month. They were done with chic silhouettes that can be beautiful pieces to add to any Fall wardrobe.
Golden Yellow
Okay, it's really closer to a mustard tone, but golden yellow and marigold just sounds more glamorous.
More Corsets
This is truly one of my favorite trends to ever exist, and I'm happy to report that it will still be trending this season.
Rule-Breaking Pastels
If you thought pastels were exclusive to Spring, then you would be incorrect. This Fall our favorite springtime shades will be taking center stage.
Basics
You read that correctly. Think supermodel off duty pieces such as plain, white tanks, jeans, cargos, etc.
On and Off the Court
Tennis pieces have been trending for some time now, but we'll also see a variety of retro sporty pieces. Rugby, soccer, and even motocross being big influences.
Coats that are the Moment.
Coats are always trending for Fall, but this year they're bolder and louder than ever. We'll see fun patterns, faux fur, and modern takes on the classic pea coat.
Shoes
This year we're seeing a larger variety of shoe trends, so while your boots will still be trendy, there will be even more chic options to choose from when creating the perfect Fall 'fit.
Even Higher Platforms
I can't even begin to express how happy I am that this will still be trending this season, and as a lover of high heels, I'm ecstatic to report that they'll be even taller.
Adidas Samba Sneaker
There's always a new "it" sneaker for the new season, but this one is actually a bit of a throwback. Due to many designer collaborations, Adidas has grown in popularity and this vintage sneaker trend will match all the other vintage pieces trending this season.
Gossip Girl/ Plaza Princess Aesthetic
A.k.a preppy! It's time to channel your inner Upper Eastside socialite because preppy shoes such as chunky loafers, Mary Jane's, and ballet flats are a necessary wardrobe staple for the season. If you're not sure what this means, think, "what would Blair Waldorf wear?"
A Little Over-the-Knee Moment
The most classic of the Fall shoe trends. Truly these are a timeless wardrobe staple.
Glitz and Glam
Think glitter, rhinestones, sequins, embellishments. These party shoes are going anywhere, and can be a statement making piece this season.
Fuzzy
Feather, faux fur, etc will add a chic and cozy feel to our Fall 'fits.
Handbags
Handbags will be another way to show off personality and make a statement this season. With such a variety of bag trends you really can do no wrong, so it's time to have more fun with our bag choices.
The Bigger the Better
Oversized is simply the way to go, and also a great excuse to carry everything with you.
Backpacks
Cute little backpacks will be a major trend, and also so much easier to carry around than your traditional handbag.
Bold Graphic Patterns
Many designers are using fun graphic patterns in their collections this fall. Bags like this can tie in a color palette in an outfit or be a statement piece.
Bags on Bags on Bags
By this I mean bags with smaller bags attached to them. It's chic, fun, and a great way to stay organized.
Cute Clutches
This is truly my favorite type of bag! They're perfect for elevating any look. Especially, a night out!

Jewelry
Jewelry pieces just might be getting louder than ever. Trends this season can be the perfect complement to an outfit or even steal the show. Either way they're the perfect final touch for your fall look.
Statement-Making Sparkles
It's the time to turn up the glam at full volume! Over-the-top rhinestone jewelry will be the perfect "wow" factor to add to every outfit!
Chokers
Yes chokers are making a comeback and I'm here for it! They pair perfectly with any grunge outfit or can be a staple pieces in a more simple outfit.
Elevated Hoops
Think your standard hoop earrings, but better! We're seeing larger shapes and fun embellishments added onto this classic staple this season.
Cuffs
Cuffs seem to be a trend that comes and goes, but they always look both bold and classic.
A Pop of Floral
Another trend that sounds perfect for Spring, but we're planning to rock in the Fall! Flower jewelry can add a beautiful touch to any look!
Earthy
This simply means jewelry that is using pieces found in nature such as stones and shells. This is a fun trend to pair with our go-to Fall colors and add a unique touch to any outfit.
There you have it, a season of trends almost as #Extra as I am. Based off what we've seen on the runway, this Fall is all about ditching what we have come to know as classic Fall trends, and having a bit more fun with our wardrobe. After all, clothing is a way to express who we are, not to fit the mould. My personal goal for the season is to dress up and wear as much pink as possible! After all, life is too short for boring outfits.
