One of the most iconic fashion movies of all time is The Devil Wears Prada. I like many other fashion-loving women lived for that movie. While Miranda and Andy are amazing as main characters, you can't help but love Emily Charlton, Miranda's first assistant. Her snippy remarks and hardworking attitude made her character absolutely entertaining, so it's about time she got the sequel she deserves.
Author of The Devil Wears Prada, Lauren Weisberger, sets up a dramatic, but funny book centered around Emily's life after she's left Runway Magazine. Shockingly enough, we find Emily in the suburbs. Of course, our strong New York City woman would never find herself there unless she had a good reason. The reason being that former supermodel and wife to a senator, Karolina Hartwell, gets arrested for a crime she didn't commit, and suddenly she's lost everything. Emily, now a celebrity image consultant, with the help of friend and former lawyer Miriam work to clear her name. Though they work diligently to do so, will they be able to clear her name without making a deal with the devil?
Without giving away anymore details, I have to say what I love about this book is the powerful friendship these women form. Sure the novel has it rom-com moments, but what it's really about is the strong bond these women form. Together they can truly do anything they put their minds to!
