Another #NationalLipstickDay Haul

The more lipsticks I buy, the more I help the economy.

If you read my last post, you know that to celebrate #NationalLipstickDay properly, you must shop the sales, and that I did! In fact, I probably went overboard, but I'm aware that this surprises no one. I took advantage of sales at both Mac and Ulta, and ended up adding nine new shades to my insanely large lipstick collection (this does not included all the lip balms, lip oils, and lip scrubs that were included with my free gift with purchase). Because I want everyone else to be as exited about my splurge as I am, I, of course, had to do a haul.

Revlon Super Lustrous Champagne on Ice

Because we love looking expensive on a budget.

My favorite drugstore lipstick has easily become Revlon Super Lustrous. I love how every shade gives you a gloss like shine without the stickiness of gloss itself. I did, in fact, pick out this shade based on the name (we all know how I love champagne), and it did not disappoint. It shined in a way that made you feel as expensive as champagne, and the more orange toned neutral color is perfect for fall.

Perfect For: Sipping Champagne at a Luxurious Champagne Lounge

Rating: 8/10 Kisses. I loved everything about this lipstick! It is the perfect fall lipstick, so don't be surprised when you see it in my super basic pumpkin patch photos.

NARS Satin Lipstick Rosecliff

Always here for a nice neutral moment.

Okay, so this one was a free gift with purchase, and I have to say I am now obsessed with it, and will probably purchase a full sized one in the future. I loved the neutral tone, and the subtle shine. I will probably be rocking this shade in the fall as well!

Perfect For: Taking a series of fall photos for your Instagram grid.

Rating: 7/10 Kisses. I loved this lipstick, but will probably only be wearing it with an oversized sweater and heeled booties.

NYX Shine Loud Born to Hustle

Truly shining bright!

I love NYX lipsticks, so I was so excited when this one was also a free gift with purchase. What makes it great is that it's a two in one, so you get a liquid lipstick, and a gloss. This truly giving you the chance to shine loud as the name suggests. At first glance I loved the color and could easily see myself wearing it with deep greens, browns, and other earth tones, but after applying it I found it was simply to orange for my pale, cool-toned skin.

Perfect For: Outshining everyone in everyday life.

Rating: 5/10 Kisses. I loved the product itself (two in ones always prove to be a great idea), but wish I had tried it in a different shade. I probably will in the future.

MAC Lustreglass Lipstick Sellout

My makeup style has always been natural with a bit of glam, so when I was shopping the MAC lipstick sale, I was looking for a neutral that allowed me to shine, and I have to say I truly found it. I found it to be the perfect pink neutral for my skin tone, and loved how it shined like a gloss.

Perfect For: Brunch with your girls.

Rating: 9/10 Kisses. I am simply obsessed. That's all.

Revlon Super Lustrous Blushing Mauve

Was this pink moment unexpected? Yes.

I also picked out this lipstick based on its name. I've been wanting a new mauve shade, and wanted one that would look glossy and glam. Sadly, this lipstick was more blushing than mauve. In fact, the there was only a hint of the latter. This being said, I do like the shade, and think it looks amazing with my complexion, so I guess it was a happy accident.

Perfect For: A casual happy hour.

Rating: 6/10 Kisses. I mean, I thought it was going to be mauve, and it wasn't, so it does lose a point or two there.

Revlon Super Lustrous Gentlemen Prefer Pink

I'm sure Marylin Monroe would have loved this lipstick!

Any pink shade named after Marylin Monroe's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (the very movie in which "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" came from), is a pink worth trying. After applying this shade I simply felt fabulous. I mean, how can you not when your lipstick is pink and sparkly?

Perfect For: Visiting all of NYC's most Instagram worthy pink locations.

Rating: 9/10 Kisses. Look, I love a pink moment! I felt like I was channeling my inner Barbie and I was one hundred percent here for it!

BareMinerals BarePro Longwear Lipstick Hibiscus

Always here for a hot pink moment.

It's another gift with purchase worth talking about! I loved the shade of this lipstick. The hot pink was flirty and fun. Once again, I felt like a Barbie doll which I loved. The only thing I didn't like was the shape of the lipstick. The circular shape made an even application a bit more difficult.

Perfect For: Dressing up as Barbie on Halloween.

Rating: 7/10 Kisses. While I loved the color, the shape of the lipstick might stop me from buying a full sized one in the future.

BareMinerals Mineralist Hydrating Smoothing Lipstick Courage

But is this color red or orange?

Look, I'm certain this lipstick has great qualities. After all, it's supposed to be hydrating, but I just don't wear orange-reds. They don't complement my skin tone well, and I never will willingly buy one. (Thank god it was free!) To give this product an accurate review I'll have to try it in a different shade.

Perfect For: Those with warm toned skin.

Rating: 3/10. This has nothing to do with the lipstick itself. The shade was just not for me.

MAC Love Me Lipstick E for Effortless

This is a red that I can totally rock!

Now this deep blue-red is one I can see myself wearing on any night out. I loved that it was a bit darker than most of my other reds making a bit edgier than my usual red. I also loved that it had a hint of shine. I truly felt like the glam queen I know I am!

Perfect For: A night out!

Rating: 8/10 Kisses. I loved this lipstick, but because of the darker shade, I can only see myself wearing it for special occasions.

So there you have it. Another National Lipstick Day where I spent more than I should have, but I would say it was worth it. I will be rocking many of these shades on a regular basis, and will probably be buying many of these free sample sizes in a full size lipsticks.

XOXO,

Kristin
