A Paris Capsule Wardrobe

A trip to Paris seems like the most perfect dream. I would love to go to all the iconic fashion houses, take a boat ride down the Seine, and take the most perfect IG photo in front of the Eiffel tower. Seriously, I have been learning French in anticipation of this dream becoming a reality. Of course, when this day comes I plan to look as glamourous as possible. Why I might not have my itinerary just yet, I can plan another capsule wardrobe.
My inspiration for this wardrobe was French fashion trends and one specific outfit from Emily in Paris. That outfit being the iconic black and white plaid set with the red beret, of course! All that being said, this capsule is black, white, and red. It's also feminine and sophisticated.
Black and White Polka Dot Crop Top

Confession: I have had this top in my favorites on Revolve for months now, but haven't found an excuse to buy it. However, I'm choosing to fantasize about it more by adding it to this capsule. I love everything about it, the puff sleeves, the polka dots, the off-the-shoulder moment. It's perfect for strutting from one Parisian fashion house to another.
White Skirt with Black Detailing

I love this white skirt because it's chic and versatile. It pairs perfectly with every top in this wardrobe, and would look amazing anywhere you choose to go in the City of Lights.
Red Blazer

One thing I've learned from following French influencers is that colored blazers are a must. Of course, most of theirs are designers, but I think Zara is close enough., and this red one is to die for!
Red Pants

Obviously the high-waisted matching red pants are included in this fictional yet chic capsule. I personally loved the gold button details, and feel like they would be perfect for going to one of the many museums Paris has to offer.
Black Crop Top

One thing I have learned about French style is there is a lot of simplicity and elegance. This black crop top fits that perfectly. Though it seems like a basic piece the satin material and open-back add more fashionable elements without going over the top.
Red Corset

A corset is the perfect feminine and flirty piece to add to this Parisian wardrobe, especially if it's red. I would pair this with Rouge Dior 999 red lipstick and have a photoshoot on one of those iconic balconies that overlook the Eiffel Tower.
Black Jeans

Every capsule wardrobe needs a pair of jeans, and straight leg black jeans are the perfect fit for this one!
Black and White Stripped Top

A white and black stripped top is truly a Parisian staple. I, of course, didn't want to choose the standard long sleeve scoop neck tee, so I opted for a turtle neck instead as a chic twist.
Black Blazer Dress

One blazer simply wouldn't do, so I changed it up and made the second one a dress. The puff sleeve and belt give this a more feminine structure and will surely turn some heads.
Red Dress

So, this is a bit of a nod to the black tulle dress from Emily and Paris, but of course my showstopping piece is going to be red. I just hope that I would be able to wear it to a glamourous perfume launch party like Emily.
"Classic" Black Pumps

Classic pumps seem like a necessary staple for any trip to France, but being my #extra self, I had to choose some with rhinestone straps.
Classic Red Pumps

I love pairing a black and white outfit with a chic pair of red heels. This pair of pumps is perfect to so just that, and would look amazing strutting through the streets of Paris.
Black and White Sneakers

Once again, I have chosen a city with lots of walking, so a pair of sneakers is a need. The best for this wardrobe is none other than the classic white Adidas with black stripes.
Red Beret

I know this is a bit cliche, but I love how cute a red beret is, and it's the perfect accessory for this trip.
Red Handbag

Since it's a capsule wardrobe, I decided to only include one handbag, and only a quilted red one would do. Hopefully, though, on this dream trip buying at least one designer bag would be included on the intinerary.
Gold Drusy Necklace

Shockingly enough, I wanted to keep the jewelry somewhat simple. For the necklace, i chose a sparkling iridescent drusy pendant with a gold chain.
Gold Drusy Bracelet

For more polished looks, it's better for jewelry to match which is why I chose a bracelet with the same stones and metal as the necklace.
Another Gold Drusy Bracelet

I chose this bracelet with the intention to layer, but it can also be worn on its own. either way, you'll be shining as bright as the lights in the city!
Gold Drusy Earrings

Just like French style, hoop earrings have a way of looking effortlessly chic. I loved how these also had the drusy stone so they would pair perfectly with the rest of the jewelry.
Emily in Paris Phone Case

After watching Emily in Paris this just feels like a must have.
As Audrey Hepburn said, "Paris is always a good idea." Sadly, it really is an idea at the moment, but I know one day I'll be rocking a glamourous wardrobe, attending fashion shows, and eating all the croissants in the City of Lights. Let's just hope that until that dream trip is planned I can resist the temptation of adding any of these pieces to cart (and, yes, I know that's highly unlikely.)
XOXO,
Kristin
