There are two things about me that I would say everybody knows. Number one is that I am obsessed with lipstick. Seriously, I don't believe that an outfit is complete without it. The second is that I'm a sucker for a good sale. (It's truly a curse.) So, when Anastasia Beverly Hills announced its BOGO lip product sale for National Lipstick Day, I couldn't stop myself from hitting "add to cart".
Since I took advantage of this sale, and I currently can't rock these lipsticks in public (Thanks Covid), I thought I would do a rating of each one that I bought.
My Go-To Since Forever: Anastasia Beverley Hills Liquid Lipstick in Dusty Rose
There's a reason I call this lipstick "trusty dusty". In my opinion, it's the perfect pink shade. It's darker than my natural lip color, so it's obvious I've played around with my makeup, but it's neutral enough that I can wear it with anything.
Perfect For: Absolutely Everything
Rating: 9/10 Kisses. I wanted to give this one a perfect 10, so badly, but ever since they changed the brush I've found it's harder to apply, and it's not the most long lasting.
The 'Gram Worthy Metallic: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sunset Punch
I love a good metallic lip, especially when it's a neutral pink shade. This one was super cute, but a little #extra for everyday life. I immediately took a series of selfies for Instagram (and, yes, they're posted) after putting this lipstick on, but that's probably all I would use it for.
Perfect For: An Instagram Photo Shoot
Rating: 7/10 Kisses. While this shade is girly and fun, it's simply not that wearable (at least not in everyday life, but catch me rocking it when I can finally have another G.N.O.)
The Perfect Fall Shade: Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Spice
I'm definitely one of those basic girls who loves the fall, so I was excited when I noticed this lipstick was the perfect shade for the season. It's a bit warm, so it's not the most flattering on my cool-toned skin, but I still could imagine myself wearing it with a sweater, ripped jeans, and a cute pair of booties.
Perfect For: Going to a Pumpkin Patch
Rating: 6/10 Kisses. Honestly, it's not really my color. Being matte, I also found it hard to apply.
The Dark and Stormy Lipstick: Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Rum Punch
Every now and then, a girl just needs a good dark lip. I loved the color of this lipstick. Of course, it's a little dark for everyday, but would look amazing with an edgy outfit or on a night out.
Perfect For: A Night Out
Rating: 6.5/ 10 Kisses. While, I loved the color, I found it hard to apply, and with such a dark shade that could be very problematic.
Bonus: False Eyelash Review
In addition to every lip product being buy one get one. The rest of their site was buy one get one half off, so, naturally, I decided that it was time to try out their false lashes.
The Elegant yet Still Dramatic Pair: Anastasia Beverly Hills False Lashes in Eleganza
I felt so glamourous after putting these on. I imagined myself back at Fashion Week, but instead of working backstage, I was front row. These lashes truly made me feel like the best and most high fashion version of myself.
Perfect For: Again, Everything
Rating: 10/10 Winks. These were natural enough that I could wear them everyday, but dramatic enough that I felt even more fashionable and could see myself wearing them on a night out.
The Too Extra, Even For Me Pair: Anastasia Beverly Hills False Lashes in So Hollywood
Believe it or not, I have been limits when it comes to how over the top I'm willing to be. (Shocking! I know!) These lashes crossed that line. They were far too long and dramatic even for me. While I'm sure there is someone out there who would totally slay in these, I am not that girl.
Perfect For: Halloween
Rating: 4/10 Winks. They're simply too much, and I could only imagine wearing them while in costume.
As Audrey Hepburn says, "On a bad day, there's always lipstick." I have found this to be true. Though no one can currently see my lips, there's something getting glammed up that makes me feel happier. Though I wont be able to rock any of these fab lipstick shades in public anytime soon, I will be rocking this cute mask!
