A London Capsule Wardrobe

I really wish I was wearing this in front of Big Ben and not my front door.

Hi! Yes, I'm back at it with the capsule wardrobes, and this time I've set my sights on the ever-so-posh London. It has been a dream of mine to travel here since I watched Mary Kate and Ashley kick butt at their model UN in Winning London. This city has it all, rock and roll, fashion, and actual royalty. I mean, what else could a girl want? It's number one on my list of places I want to travel to.

For this fictional capsule wardrobe, I wanted to keep it neutral, tailored and a bit preppy. I chose a color palette inspired by London fashion house Burberry of Tan, Brown, White, and Navy Blue, and for the purposes of this post, I have once again chosen 20 pieces for this wardrobe.

Tan Blazer

It's not a Burberry Coat, but it will do.

Burberry made the tan coat a London staple, but personally I prefer a blazer. This tan oversized blazer is tailored and classic and will pair well with everything.

Tan Shorts

The perfect mix and match piece.

Of course I had to to include the matching shorts! These will look great with the blazer, but will also pair well with many other pieces in my capsule!

White Button Down Dress

This dress is simply classic and polished.

This dress is the white button down's more elegant and structured older sister. It's an easy way to look polished, and the perfect dress to wear while strutting down Bond Street with shopping bags in hand of course!

Dark Wash, Straight Leg Jeans

Cause every capsule wardrobe needs jeans

I love how straight leg jeans complement basically everything. To continue with my classy and elegant theme, I chose a pair with very minimal distressing.

Navy Blue Plaid Crop Top

Loving this navy blue plaid moment!

I wasn't kidding when I said this capsule would be a bit preppy. This navy blue plaid top with puff sleeves and a sweetheart neckline is the perfect, feminine top for exploring the city! Blue Plaid Crop Top - Puff Sleeve Top - Plaid Cropped Blouse - Lulus

Navy Blue Plaid Shorts

What can I say? I'm just a sucker for a matching set.

Once again, I had to include the matching shorts. When paired with the top above this outfit is perfect for a stroll through The Regent's Park, but the cute plaid pattern also pairs well with other pieces.

Tan Button Up Crop Top

Truly a need for this London capsule wardrobe!

This top pairs perfectly with every bottom in this fictional yet classy London wardrobe. It's sure to turn heads as you walk through the city!

White Jeans

Obsessed with the details on these jeans!

Normally I shy away from white jeans, but these were just too perfect to not include in my London capsule! I love the added seams on the front, and the slits by the ankles. The added structure makes them all the more elegant.

Brown Satin Skirt

Seriously though? How cute is this?

Just like many fashion influencers, I am a sucker for a satin skirt. This brown one is perfect for this capsule because it adds a flirty taste to what is otherwise a very polished wardrobe.

Denim Jumpsuit

Who knew that denim could look this showstopping?

I wouldn't be able to call myself #extra without at least one showstopping piece. This denim jumpsuit still has the tailoring and structure to match well with the other pieces. It can be worn on its own or with the tan blazer thrown on top. Either way you'll be turning heads and maybe even mistake for royalty!

Navy Lace Up Booties

Time to edge things up a bit.

These booties somehow give off both classic and edgy vibes at the same time. As London is known for its Rock and Roll, it would be wrong to not bring a little bit of edge to this wardrobe. Plus the brown chunky heel and navy color pair perfectly with almost every piece.

Nude Platform Sneakers

Practical doesn't have to be boring!

So London is another one of those large cities where walking is the primary form of commuting, so it's good to have at least one pair of practical shoes. These platform sneakers are still sleek, but also trendy. Plus, you can walk for miles in them.

Tan Color Block Pumps

Now back to making a statement!

Every cosmopolitan trip needs a chic pair of heels. These color block ones pair perfectly with every outfit in this wardrobe, and bring another flirty touch to this capsule.

Brown Belt

Pretend it's a Gucci belt.

When creating classic and polished looks, a belt can really make or break an outfit. Not only does the brown color pair greatly with all of the clothing pieces, but the gold circle buckle will also pair perfectly with the jewelry I selected.

Gold Chain Necklace

I almost added this one to cart.

Every British fashion influencer that I follow wears gold chain necklaces, so I knew it was a must for my fictional wardrobe. However, I had to stay true to myself, and choose one with a bit more sparkle. Also if you see me wearing this in the future, no, you didn't.

Gold Chain Bracelet

As you can tell, I like to sparkle!

Obviously, I had to pick a bracelet to match the necklace. Only this time to stone is bigger, better, and shinier, and would look amazing anywhere in London.

Gold Earring Set

For the purposes of this capsule, pretend it's only one pair.

The fact that there's two pairs of hoops, and one ear cuff probably breaks my 20 piece rule for the capsule. However, it's to create the perfect curated ear, so I'll break my own rules. These gold pieces will tie the jewelry all together and also give it more of a fashion forward edge.

Color Block Handbag

Name an outfit this won't go with. I'll wait.

Picking the right handbag for any trip is important, specially if you're only bringing one. This one goes with every possible outfit combination from this classy capsule and otherwise.

Tan Headband

Blair Waldorf claimed these were a sign of royalty.

I guess in England only royalty wears tiaras, but Blair Waldorf always claimed that headbands were the next best thing. So if you want to feel like a princess in London, a headband is absolutely necessary, and this tan one looks great with anything.

Burberry Sunglasses

Now let's pretend I can afford these.

Since this is a fictional capsule wardrobe, I figured it would be fun to include one designer item. These Burberry sunglasses are totally chic and would be the perfect final touch to any outfit, well, if I could afford them.

Creating this classic and sophisticated capsule wardrobe made we wish I really was taking a trip to London. Seriously, I can imagine the cute phone booth and high tea Instagram photos now. Sadly, that trip is not yet on the horizon, but at least I know what I want to wear when that day finally comes.

XOXO,

Kristin
