Ever since I can remember, high heels have been my favorite accessory. Shoes in general, have a way of making or breaking an outfit. A cute pair can take you from a nine to a complete ten! What a love about heels more than any other shoe is that they instantly make your #ootd more chic and make your legs look even longer. While I believe every pair is a good investment, there is no limit to the number you should own. However, I have broken down a few pairs that every #extra girl means. This list is not necessarily for every woman out there, but it is for every woman who sees heels as one of the most essential items in her wardrobe.
The Not So Basic, Basics
These are heels that are made to be a complement not necessarily the star of the show, but this doesn't mean they have to be boring.
The Nude Pair
A nude pair of heels is absolutely essential to any wardrobe. This pair can be a pump, a block heel, wedges, or even stilettoes. When wearing a nude heel, I often opt for a block heel because it can keep the look casual, but still take your jeans and a nice top to the next level.
The Classic Black Pumps
When in doubt, black pumps are always the chicest and most elegant option. I have a few different pairs, but I love these rhinestone ones from Shoedazzle. They have the elegance of any black pump, but the added embellishment makes them more fun and girly without distracting from any outfit.
The "Neutral" Booties
Booties are another fun way to elevate your look while keeping it somewhat casual. I have all different kinds of neutrals, but this pair from Steve Madden is my absolute fave! As I mentioned in a previous blog post dedicated to these booties alone, they're neutral enough to not just complement, but add that necessary added sparkle to any look. They can also be the showstopping piece. No shocker here, but I'm still obsessed!
The Statement-Making Pairs
Some heels are so stunning, they deserve to be the star of the show! When wearing a pair of statement making shoes, I do feel like that cliche Marilyn Monroe quote in the fact that I can conquer the world. These heels can take your 'fit from a 10/0 to a 12/10 and make your feel your most confident.
The Bold Bootie
I love a good pop of color! Especially, when the outfit is neutral. These red booties were a nice, bold statement to a black and white, plaid blazer set, and if it wasn't for the beret, would have stolen the show. Now, we all know I prefer a red moment, but any bright color can be used to make a statement.
The Fierce Pair
Now when I say a fierce pair, I mean whatever shoe makes you feel ready to unleash your inner Beyoncé. For me, this means an animal print, more specifically, these snakeskin booties. I usually like to pair these with Earth tones, but for the purposes of the photo matched them with snakeskin pants. Either way, these shoes always make me feel fierce and fabulous.
The Disney Princess Pair
I know this one my sound a little juvenile, but I'm a firm believer that you can channel your inner princess at any age! I chose to channel Cinderella with these rhinestoned, silver shoes. After all, she is my favorite, and inspires many of my other wardrobe choices. While her glass slippers are obviously to most iconic, you can channel whichever princess you want.
The Barbie Girl Pair
You know that TikTok trend saying that every friend group of three has a Barbie, Bratz, and Fairy? Well, I'm obviously the Barbie and chose to channel that when purchasing these shoes. The perfect pair of Barbie heels means that they're pink, over the top, and quite high. My pair definitely fits the criteria! If you know you aren't the Barbie of group, I strongly encourage you to find pair that channels your inner Bratz Doll or Fairy!
Now this list is really the bare minimum. I have way too many pairs of heels to count, and could have made this list go on forever. The important thing is to wear whatever shoes make you feel confident, and ready to conquer the world, even if that means wearing flats. Don't worry. I won't judge!
